Bah. Best Intentions.

Have you noticed?  It's mid-July?  I had promised a Clothesline Challenge this summer which then got, er, hung up, so to speak.  Today we are staying cool inside the air-conditioned bliss of the house while temperatures soar to the hundreds (And Beyond!).

So far the summer had been wonderful, despite the high temperatures and my children's addiction to television.  What brought them to this point?  Well, an overly permissive mama is really to blame but a small creature also had something to do with it.  One that need infinite patience to banish.  One that makes mama throw up her hands and lets her children watch marathon amounts of television (on that first day, inparticular) all while appeasing them with candy.  Can I give you a hint?  Remember my post here?

What has been keeping you busy this summer?

We've been busy trying to be outside as much as possible...trying to stick to a homework routine...trying to garden. Mainly, we've been busy trying.

Yes, I'm finding that sticking to the homework routine is a challenge! We're *trying* a couple of worksheets per day. What are you *trying*?

Oh, ick. So sorry! I can see how major "nit picking" sessions in front of the TV would get the summer off to the wrong start! Hope all that is behind you now and you can enjoy that summery heat you are having!

Oh nits.. we know them well. Not a month goes by where the dreaded nit-note doesn't come home from school. They just keep going from one kid to the next, so of course that involves LOTS of checking. I think I'm on a preventative winner here though. Poor Poppy has her hair up everyday without fail and most importantly, sprayed with hair spray. Also very helpful is to get your husband to do the de-nitting. As far as my children are aware, it is a job only men can do.
