Sleepless in the Middle

Yes, there is something about falling asleep in your wee one's bed only to get up at 2:30 in the morning, twiddling your thumbs. I would vacuum, but that's a bit too noisy. So, it's just me and the cat prowling around the house.

Mama (that's me) is in need of an upgrade...I think Mom 2.0 is in order. What are your eco-savvy, healthy pick-me-ups? And, as the weather gets colder, how do you avoid The Couch?

Yoga! But truthfully, I don't avoid the couch. In fact I'm trying to figure out a way to do yoga from the couch...

I don't know if I have any healthy tips to offer - but when I was in high school I learned a relaxation technique that puts me back to sleep almost every time when I wake up in the middle of the night.

It's really basic, but it works. First, concentrate on relaxing your face, then neck, then shoulders, arms, etc. all the way down. You spend a few seconds on each area and move on once you get the muscles relaxed. Of course; you would want to relocate back to your own bed first.

I was just thinking the other day how can I get myself up off the couch...so of course I interested to read your post.

Yes - so very often the couch wins. But while I am there I clip coupons, read books, or hmmmm maybe that is all.

I try to get up into the craft room - but darn those early dark nights making me feel like I should hibernate instead....BAH!
