I have several coffee and tea spills from an 11 month old crawling and pulling my coffee cup. I mix 1 part water to 1 part vinegar in a cheap plastic spray bottle. Spray the area and let it sit for a few minutes then take a light color towel and blot the area. I made a huge difference on the stains that the carpet cleaner wasn't making a dent on.
